The Office of the Chairman, State Level Police Recruitment Board, Assam, is pleased to announce a remarkable opportunity for eligible Ex-Servicemen (Army/Navy/Air Force) domiciled in the State of Assam. This recruitment drive, operating under the auspices of the Personnel Integrated Framework (PIF) scheme by the Government of India, is designed to fill a range of positions within the Assam Police Border Organization.

Position Details: The Assam Police Border Organization seeks to engage committed and experienced Ex-Servicemen for various significant roles. The available positions are as follows:

  • Inspector (B): 2 vacancies
  • Sub-Inspector (B): 60 vacancies
  • Head Constable: 70 vacancies
  • Constable: 200 vacancies
  • Total: 332 vacancies

Eligibility Criteria: To be considered for these roles, candidates are required to meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Maximum Age: The upper age limit for applicants is 50 years, calculated as of 1st January 2023. This implies that candidates must be born on or after 1st January 1973.
  • Educational Qualification: All candidates are expected to possess at least a High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) or an equivalent qualification.
  • Service Qualification: To be eligible, candidates must meet specific service criteria:
    • For Constable & Head Constable posts: Applicants should have retired from the rank of Sepoy to Havildar in the Army or held an equivalent position in the Navy or Air Force.
    • For Sub-Inspector & Inspector posts: Those who retired from the rank of Naib Subedar or above in the Army or equivalent rank in the Navy or Air Force are eligible.
    • It’s important to note that Ex-Servicemen who retired as Havildar or equivalent, but served for 15 years or more, will have the option to apply for the Sub-Inspector position instead of Constable/Head Constable, but not for both.

  5. Relevant pages of the discharge book
  6. Pension Pay Order
  7. Educational qualification documents
  8. Identity Card issued by Zila Sainik Welfare Office
  9. Certificates regarding background in Military Police, Special Forces, special skills, and training (if applicable)
  10. Photograph: Color, taken professionally, white background, taken after 1st June 2023, face occupies 50% of the area, no glare on glasses, clear glasses, JPEG format, between 320 x 240 and 640 x 480 resolution, maximum file size 450 KB.
  11. Signature: Black or dark blue ink on white paper, JPEG format, 400 x 150 minimum resolution, 800 x 300 maximum resolution, dimension of 3.5cm width x 2.5cm height, maximum file size 100 KB.
  12. Complete the online application form within the stipulated timeframe: 1st September 2023 to 15th September 2023.
  13. No application fee is required for this recruitment drive.

Selection Criteria: The selection process for these roles involves evaluating candidates based on their performance in the Oral/Interview phase. To ensure a fair and equitable selection process, the following factors will be considered:

  • Oral/Interview Marks: Candidates possessing a background in Military Police, Special Forces, special skills, and training, and those under the age of 45, will be given preference.
  • Oral Viva/Interview Marks: The Oral Viva/Interview phase will be evaluated on a scale of 100 marks.

Physical & Medical Standards: Candidates seeking these positions must meet specific physical and medical standards:

  • Physical Health: Applicants must be in sound physical health without any significant chronic ailments or physical deformities.
  • Sensory Abilities: Normal hearing and eyesight, with or without glasses, are prerequisites.
  • Medical Category: Candidates must have been assigned a SHAPE-1 category by the Army or an equivalent category by the Navy or Air Force, as indicated in their Discharge book.
  • Medical Fitness Certificate: Successful candidates will be required to furnish a valid medical fitness certificate to the appointing authority prior to formal appointment.

Disqualifications: It’s important to note the factors that can lead to disqualification from this recruitment process:

  • Dishonorable Discharge: Ex-Servicemen who have been dishonorably discharged from the Armed Forces are ineligible to apply.
  • Medical Ground Discharge: Those who were prematurely discharged or retired from service due to medical reasons or any other grounds are not eligible to apply under this recruitment advertisement.

  • Identity Card: An identity card issued by the Zila Sainik Welfare Office.
  • Certificates: Any relevant certificates highlighting a background in Military Police, Special Forces, specialized skills, and training.
