The Assam Public Service Commission warmly invites applications from Indian Citizens, as defined in Articles 5 to 8 of the Constitution of India, for various posts under the Assam Government. These positions come with competitive pay scales and additional allowances as per the Government of Assam rules.

(A) Scientific Officer for Directorate of Forensic Science, Guwahati, Assam

• Number of Posts: 1 (One)
• Pay Scale: Rs. 30,000/- to Rs. 1,10,000/- per month
• Grade Pay: Rs. 12,700/-

Distribution of Posts (Division Wise):

• Explosives Division: 1 post

Educational Qualification:

• M.Sc. in Chemistry or M.Sc. in Physics or M.Sc. in Forensic Science with specialization in Chemistry/Physics from a recognized university.

Desirable Qualification:

• Research/analytical/scientific photography experience.

(B) Scientific Officer for Regional Forensic Science Laboratories at Silchar, Bongaigaon, Tezpur, and Dibrugarh respectively under the Directorate of Forensic Science, Assam

• Number of Posts: 12 (Twelve)
• Pay Scale: Rs. 30,000/- to Rs. 1,10,000/- per month
• Grade Pay: Rs. 12,700/-

Distribution of Posts (Division Wise):

• Instrumentation Division: 3 posts
• Questioned Documents Division: 2 posts
• Drugs and Narcotics Division: 3 posts
• Toxicology Division: 2 posts
• Biology Division: 1 post
• Serology Division: 1 post

Educational Qualification:

• Varies by division, including M.Sc. in Physics with Electronics, Electronics, Instrumentation, Chemistry, or Forensic Science with specified specializations.

Desirable Qualification:

• Research/analytical/scientific photography experience.

Age Limit:

• Candidates should be between 21 and 38 years old as of January 1, 2023. Relaxations apply for specific categories.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Applicants must be permanent residents of Assam.
• Applicants must register on the APSC’s recruitment website and complete the One Time Registration (OTR) process.
• The Small Family Norms must be adhered to, as per government rules.

Points to Note:
