The ICFRE-Rain Forest Research Institute, located in the picturesque region of Jorhat, Assam, is offering an exciting opportunity for dynamic individuals to join our team. Our research institute operates as an autonomous body under the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Government of India. Successful candidates will be placed in Level-2 of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix, with a salary range of ₹19,900 to ₹63,200/-. This position also comes with usual allowances as per Government of India norms.
The selection process will involve a written examination consisting of an objective type question paper with 100 questions up to the level of 10+2. The syllabus will cover General English, Numerical Aptitude, Mental Ability & Reasoning, and General Awareness.
A non-refundable application fee of ₹500/- (Rupees Five Hundred only) should be deposited in the office Savings Bank Account No. 393102010059274 (IFS Code: UBIN0539317) with Union Bank of India, Jorhat Branch, in favor of Director, ICFRE-Rain Forest Research Institute, Jorhat. However, ST and women candidates are exempt from payment of fees.
Interested candidates who meet all the requirements and are willing to serve anywhere in India may apply to the Director, ICFRE-Rain Forest Research Institute, Sotai Deovan, Jorhat-785010, Assam, along with self-attested copies of the following documents:
i) Certificate of Proof of Age.
ii) Certificates/Mark Sheets of educational qualification.
iii) Certificate issued by the competent authority in support of the claim belonging to Persons with Disability, as applicable. In case the certificate is in the local vernacular language, its English translation should be submitted.
iv) Certificate in support of age relaxation, fee concession, as applicable.
v) OBC and ST candidates applying against reserved vacancies must mandatorily submit a Caste Certificate issued by the competent authority.

Invalid Applications
Applications may be rejected due to the following reasons:
i) Incomplete or illegible and not submitted on the prescribed format.
ii) Unsigned/Undated without a photograph.
iii) Under Aged/Over Aged candidates.
iv) Not possessing the requisite educational qualification at the time of submitting the application.
v) Educational qualification not recognized.
vi) Application received after the due date.
vii) Application without prescribed fees and proof of payment of fees.
viii) Non-submission of a valid Non-Creamy Layer Certificate (for OBC candidates).
ix) Any other irregularity like mutilated or damaged application/document, etc.
x) Certified true copies of testimonials not enclosed, etc.
Working with Us
Selected candidates will primarily work at ICFRE-Rain Forest Research Institute, Jorhat, Assam, including its centers at Aizawl and Agartala. However, they may also be required to serve anywhere in India under the Indian Council of Forestry Research & Education, Dehradun, and its Institutes. Candidates already employed in the service of Government/Autonomous organizations may send their applications through the proper channel. They are required to submit a “No Objection Certificate” along with an application from the previous employer. This requirement also applies to employees of ICFRE-Rain Forest Research Institute, Jorhat.
