INDIAN AIR FORCE RECRUITMENT 2023 is inviting unmarried Indian male candidates from various states to join as Agniveervayu (Musicians). This recruitment drive aims to identify talented musicians who can contribute their skills to the Indian Air Force Band and serve the nation with pride.

Selection Program:

The selection process will be conducted at two locations:

1. Rally at 11 ASC, Borjhar, Guwahati:

  • Date: September 12 to September 13, 2023
  • Activities: Proficiency test in playing musical instruments, English written test, Physical Fitness Test (PFT), Adaptability Test-II, and Medical Examination
  • Coverage: All the districts of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Meghalaya, Sikkim, and West Bengal

2. Rally at 12 ASC, Air Force Station, Begumpet, Secunderabad:

  • Date: September 15 to September 16, 2023
  • Activities: Proficiency test in playing musical instruments, English written test, Physical Fitness Test (PFT), Adaptability Test-II, and Medical Examination
  • Coverage: All the districts of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka, and UTs of Daman, Diu, Dadar and Nagar Haveli

Eligibility Conditions:

  1. Age Limit: Candidates born between December 26, 2002, and June 26, 2006 (both days inclusive) are eligible to participate in the Recruitment Rally.
  2. Educational Qualification and Musical Proficiency:
    • Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed Matriculation/10th or equivalent with minimum pass marks from any recognized Government School/Board.
    • Music Ability: Candidates should have proficiency in music with accuracy in tempo, pitch, and singing a complete song. They should be able to perform a preparatory tune and any notation (Staff notation/Tablature/Tonic Solfa/Hindustani/Carnatic, etc.). Candidates should also be capable of tuning individual instruments (if required) and matching unknown notes on vocals or instruments.
    • Instrument Proficiency: Candidates must have proficiency in playing at least one instrument from List A or List B provided in the job posting.
  3. Domicile Requirement: Candidates must satisfy specific domicile requirements based on the districts of the mentioned states. Candidates should have passed their qualifying examination from institutions located within the geographical/administrative limits of the mentioned districts.

Physical Standards:

  • Height: Minimum 162 cms
  • Weight: Proportionate to height and age
  • Chest: Well developed with minimum 05 cms range of expansion
  • Hearing: Normal hearing
  • Dental: Healthy gums, good set of teeth, minimum 14 dental points
  • Vision: Correctable to 6/6 each eye, certain visual standards apply
  1. Physical Fitness: Candidates must meet the physical fitness standards set by the Indian Air Force. These standards include height, weight, chest measurements, hearing ability, dental health, visual acuity, and overall general health.
  2. Medical Standards: Candidates must meet the medical standards set by the Indian Air Force. The medical examination will assess various aspects of health, including blood tests, urine tests, X-ray, ECG, and more.

Selection Procedure:

The selection process for Agniveervayu (Musicians) in the Indian Air Force consists of the following stages:

  1. Proficiency Test in Playing Musical Instruments: Candidates will showcase their musical talents by playing instruments from List A or List B.
  2. English Written Test: Candidates who qualify the proficiency test will take an objective-type English written test based on Matriculation/10th CBSE syllabus.
  3. Physical Fitness Test (PFT): Candidates must complete a 1.6 Km run within 7 minutes and perform push-ups, sit-ups, and squats within the stipulated time.
  4. Adaptability Test-II: This test assesses the candidates’ ability to adapt to the environment of the Indian Air Force and the military way of life.
  5. Medical Examination: Candidates who qualify the previous stages will undergo a thorough medical examination based on the medical standards of the Indian Air Force.

  6. Career Progression: After completing four years of service, Agniveervayu will have the chance to apply for enrolment in the regular cadre of the Indian Air Force as Airmen. Selection for further enrolment will be based on objective criteria and performance during the engagement period.
