About the Job:
RBI is seeking applications from qualified candidates for 450 Assistant positions in 2023. Eligibility Criteria:


I. Nationality: Candidates must be one of the following:

  • A citizen of India
  • A subject of Nepal or Bhutan
  • A Tibetan refugee who arrived in India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of settling permanently
  • A person of Indian origin who migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries (Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia), or Vietnam with the intention of permanent settlement. Such candidates must possess a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.

II. Age (as on 01‐09‐2023): Between 20 and 28 years. Relaxations in the upper age limit apply to various categories.

III. Educational Qualifications (as on 01‐09‐2023):

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks (pass class for SC/ST/PwBD candidates) and proficiency in word processing on a PC.
  • Ex-servicemen category candidates should either be a graduate from a recognized University or should have passed the matriculation or equivalent examination of the Armed Forces and served at least 15 years in defense.

Selection Process:


Selection will be based on a Preliminary examination, Main examination, and Language Proficiency Test (LPT).

Pay Scale:


Selected candidates will receive a starting basic pay of ₹20,700/- per month. Additional allowances will be provided as per RBI rules. The approximate Monthly Gross Emoluments (without HRA) for Assistant will be around ₹47,849/-. A 15% House Rent Allowance will be paid if candidates do not reside in Bank accommodation.

Examination Fees/ Intimation Charges:


Fees are payable online as follows:

  • SC/ST/PwBD/EXS: ₹50/- (intimation charges only) plus 18% GST
  • GEN/OBC/EWS: ₹450/- (application fee including intimation charges) plus 18% GST
  • Staff: Nil
